The Dorset Ring Dance

Source: Traditional, collected by Peter Kennedy; published in English Dance & Song, November 1950. Vol XV. No. 3
Formation: Circle

A1 Circle Left (16)
A2 Circle Right (16)
B1 Promenade (16)
B2 Polka (16)

Music:
32 bars.

Notes:
Peter says, "The step used throughout is the reel or "Rant" step." Fortunately he published a guide to steps in "Everybody Swing" in 1952:

Steps

Unfortunately I don't find that as clear as I had hoped!

The dance as described is non-progressive; I would probably get the men to move on to the lady in front during the promendade.
